After a crazy few months of festive frivolity the new year is officially upon us. For many, this is the perfect excuse to refresh homes and give interiors a revamp. Start the spring cleaning early this year and rid your rooms of accumulated clutter to make way for an invigorating new décor.

We’ve been keeping an eye on the leading homeware brands to see what their predictions are for 2013 when it comes to decorating and after seeing what they’ve got to say, we can’t wait to pick up a paintbrush!

Luxury wallpaper and paint manufacturer Farrow & Ball  have just released their colour trend report for the year ahead and the clean, elegant shades are definitely our cup of tea. The nostalgic tones are sure to create a sense of harmony and comfort in your home, while retaining a contemporary and on-trend feel.

Inspired by the Princess herself, Middleton Pink is a soft, ethereal shade that is a sophisticated way to embrace this girly hue. Pair it with a neutral taupe and dramatic Black Blue for a modern twist to this romantic palette. Or for a more male-friendly option, French Gray is a chic and stylish way to update your home. This organic green-grey shade is crisp and neutral but can give your home a real lift, especially when paired with zesty tones. To evoke the carefree whimsy of the seaside, combine Green Blue with Wimborne White for a nautical theme as demonstrated above. The light, bright coupling will bring a new life and energy into a room, while providing a calming retreat to relax in.

Why not take a look at our Pinterest page to see how you can use these colours in your home and to discover more decorating insights.
